As a part of the administration of the institution, I can support the learner by:
- most importantly, understanding the ODL environment, experiencing it myself so as to recognize potential challenges and roadblocks, and by understanding the learners who will need to access it.
- ensuring the learning environment is conducive to their study needs; this may mean making decisions on what platform to use, how content is delivered and what alternate forms can be supported, monitoring their progress with the aim of identifying and addressing problems.
- address students' concerns and queries quickly and clearly.
- ensuring that there are avenues that the learner can seek assistance .
