Those responsible for providing effective student support must be aware and understand several things for which training and other assistance are needed.
- Training in the use of the LMS, what reports can be generated to provide information that can assist me in meeting the needs of the learners, what situations may affect a learner and how these can be mitigated, the policies and procedures in place to respond to situations, etc.
- These staff need support in the form of resources to provide assistance, at the level of senior management when decisions are made or needed, and support each other in performing these duties.
